U.S. President Barack Obama on Sunday to support the Senate of the Treaty on the complete prohibition of nuclear testing and called for a global summit on nuclear security. The White House said in a statement: "to reach the goal of stopping nuclear tests, the Obama administration will push for nuclear test ban treaty into force."
The announcement of this plan, U.S. President before leaving for the summit attended by leaders of 27 nations that will be the subject of nuclear weapons, a key aspect in addition to the issues of climate change and energy issues.
The Summit will be held a few hours after North Korea fired a missile it says is devoted to the development of a satellite in orbit, insists United States and its allies in East Asia, said the move is a breach of Security Council resolution, which prevents North Korea from firing ballistic missiles.
The 148 countries signed the Treaty will enter into force after ratification by the United States, China, India, Pakistan, Israel, Iran, Egypt, Indonesia, North Korea, as reflected in the statement.
The White House, Obama will call for negotiations to reach a new international treaty "to stop production of fissile material for nuclear weapons in a verifiable way."
Finally, the White House said that Obama would call for a comprehensive summit on nuclear safety research in the new partnerships to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and ensure the safety of nuclear materials.
