Security and medical sources said that Palestinian gunmen were killed Saturday morning in clashes with Israeli army in Gaza. The sources said that the clashes between Israeli troops and gunmen from the "Salah al-Din Brigades," the military wing of the Popular Resistance Front took place in the Jabalya area.
Violence comes at a time when the fact-finding commission to investigate allegations of violations during the Israeli attack, which lasted 22 days in the Gaza Strip.
And Friday, the United Nations announced Friday the selection of a judge, Richard Goldstone of South Africa, to the presidency of the international fact-finding commission into the allegations of the Israeli army and Palestinian fighters for human rights violations in the Gaza Strip.
And will be chaired by Goldstone, a former representative of the prosecution of war crimes in what was then Yugoslavia and Rwanda, a team of four individuals, in pursuance of a decision issued by the Human Rights Council of the United Nations in a special meeting on January 12 last.
According to the newspaper, "Ha'aretz," Israel, the Israeli soldiers said earlier this month that "the killing of Palestinians and destroying their property, have been deliberately and during the Israeli military campaign in Gaza."
It is noted that some 1300 Palestinians have been killed during the process of "casting bullets," which aimed to "stop firing rockets from Gaza at Israeli towns and settlements."
